Images blur at the edges of my sight.
Heavy lashes fall over steely eyes,
Trying to block You out.
Sounds skirt past my ears,
Voices laughing and taunting.
Your grip on my heart tightens,
Pressing your will upon me.
Thump...
The fear fills my heart,
Thump...
To spread out and feed my veins.
Thump...
I've been here before...
But last time, Your hold on me was soft.
Loving.
You tried to help me, and I listened.
But this time, my body
Is deaf to You.
So You must use fear;
You must use my own nerves
To reach me.
Save me.
Attack me.
My hands grasp at the clutter on my desk,
And find the bottle; the cure.
The lid flies off, and I take the pill.
Slowly, gradually...
You fall silent.
Your voice trailing off with words of warning.
